This pancake was super good! Then I had my other half of fruit serving in strawberries and my protein a scrambled egg. I normally would just have a big bowl of cereal and then be hungry 2 hours later. this kept me full till lunch. I fruit serving for plums is 2 so there they are. I had a carb to use from breakfast and I found the lovely feature "My additions" feature and added my low sodium pretzels. I didn't have any croutons so decided to use those instead and the nutrition info they had for what they entered for pretzels was way higher. I ended up breaking these up into my salad =) The dressing is pretty good. The consistency of their chicken was a little odd. The gel they had it in was really gross. There are 2 decent sized ravilois in there. I was excited to see sliced mushrooms too! You may think only 2! Hey too many of these is why we are overweight! Veggie,Veggie, fruit, nutrisystem meal, fat and carb. The purple container is my water bottle. I have been assuming that it holds 2 8oz water but it really holds 4! So I have really been doing well with my water intake. I always was a huge water drinker. I was told you should drink half your weight in water so that has always been my goal.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;"&gt;Well back to the food. I have to say this hasn't been one of my favorites. It wasn't bad it just wasn't that great. The sauce was really good but the filling in the raviolis was pasty dry. Thank goodness for the sauce to mask the powdery taste to it. This was good. I was a bit suprised by how tiny it was but I think it's becuase I was waiting for my chocolate fix all day and in my mind my brownie was bigger. Of course in the past my brownies were twice this size with ice cream on top.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;"&gt;So far I am seeing how Nutrisystem is not a diet. It's here to teach us that we can still have all the normal food we love, we just need to learn how to portion control. These meals show us exactly how much. Maybe it will get embedded in our minds by the time we lose what we need to. Plus it's making sure we eat the veggies, fruit, protein and dairy we need daily. It's making me eat more veggies that's for sure. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;"&gt;I havn't added exercise to the routine yet. I am letting myself get use to this for now. I don;t want to go overboard and then fall off. Oh my goodness it was delish! I took the Chicken Pasta Parmesan and added sauted onion,peppers, mushrooms to it to bulk it up and get in my veggies. Then I found out since i have so much to lose I have to add a carb so I had a slice of wheat bread and put some ob on it for my fat becuase I coudlnt find butter in the lists so I figured it was a no. Then for my fruit I had honeydew. Very yummy!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:georgia;font-size:130%;color:#3333ff;"&gt;Well it's day two and I have enjoyed all my meals so far today. I know a lot of the reasons why my cycle is so messed up is &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;because&lt;/span&gt; of this weight. I want to stop thinking that it is me keeping myself from getting pregnant. The only thing I &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;haven't&lt;/span&gt; followed through with since being diagnosed with &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;PCOS&lt;/span&gt; is drop 10% of my weight to &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;jump start&lt;/span&gt; everything. Instead when everything else hasn't worked, I have adopted self pity and used foods to cope. That stops now! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#3333ff;"&gt;I went grocery shopping this weekend and grabbed a whole bunch of fruits I enjoy, some yogurts I can add in, my brother in law gave us a bunch of veggies from his garden and I also grabbed some extras for salads and such. Hubby even said he would plan for his and Kaila's dinners so that will keep me from the temptation of munching while preparing theirs. I also found a bag of thin mint &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;fudge&lt;/span&gt; bars in the pantry and told him to put them by the coffee pot at work. Let them nibble them...&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;lol&lt;/span&gt;! Hubby started the biggest loser challenge at work last week so he'll have to hold himself accountable. I am making this healthy change for myself and have to stop trying to help him make healthy choices for himself. It just makes me upset with him and then I &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;binge&lt;/span&gt;. Like I said he needs to be accountable for himself.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#3333ff;"&gt;So I &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;received&lt;/span&gt; my box (it was very exciting too!) on September 1st and had so much fun digging through all the goodies! It was a great start to a Muggy Monday that's for sure! Which reminds me it was in the 80's and when I grabbed some of my chocolate goodies out they were mushy so they have been in the freezer since I can't imagine what they will look like when I pull them out..&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;lol&lt;/span&gt;! Even though I didn't start as soon as I got my box I have been making better eating choices for myself. For instance yesterday was my cousin b-day. There was tons of junk food and some healthy choices. His sister gave me 2 cups of delicious &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;Teavana&lt;/span&gt; tea (&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"&gt;Totally&lt;/span&gt; hitting the Walden Galleria Mall up for some of that later this week) while I nibbled on some carrot sticks, green &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"&gt;peppers&lt;/span&gt; and mushrooms. Then from there I did have the tinniest slice of pizza. Which normally I would have hit the chips and buffalo wing dip first then devoured a few slices of pizza. I entered all my info into the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"&gt;nutrisystem&lt;/span&gt; food journal so I could be held accountable. I have also dropped 5 lbs too! I don't know why I hesitated starting as soon as my box arrived. Normally I jump right in. This is definitely a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"&gt;different&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"&gt;approach&lt;/span&gt; but hey I didn't stick to it then so hopefully this is what I needed to  g&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"&gt;et&lt;/span&gt; my booty going. During those that time I also was reading an &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://stomach-rumblings.blogspot.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"&gt;awesome&lt;/span&gt; blog&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#3333ff;"&gt; which she is total motivation! I learned so many different ways I can amp up the main &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"&gt;nutrisystem&lt;/span&gt; meals so I do not get bored with them. Oh plus I didn't know but you don't just eat what they give you! I did not like this oatmeal my first bite. As you can see in the pic it was thick and rubbery! I like it thinner so I added some more hot water to thin it out and then I loved it! I hate how it comes and goes. I wish someone could just send a shock through me daily to keep it up there. So yeah I have it just have to muster up the excitement again, grab the healthy food to go along with it and then get myself to do it. The salt isn't as high as I thought it would be but it is higher than just eating healthy. I feel like if I do this and drop weight it will show me I can do it and then start myself making healthier choices for myself. I finally see that I am worth it. I am sick of wondering if it's all my fault we haven't gotten pregnant. It's always weighing in the back of my mind that if I did lose about 30% of this weight (which about 1/4 of it came on from the infertility battle) that maybe I could start popping out some good eggs. So I finally decided this is the time to start loving myself and have a go at nutrisystem. My sister tried talking me out of it. She did it back when it was over $400/month to do it and she didn't lose much. BUT she was going through some really high stress and I don;t think she was able to put 100% into making it work for her. The motor was going for some time now and now it only lets you run. I mean run super super fast! So I posted it on some sight for free(in February-which is super cold and icy here) and it was gone in twenty minutes. So before the tax return came we went out and tested a few and found the new one to the left. I haven't named it yet. Trying not to name is something too &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;feminine&lt;/span&gt; so the hubby will use it...&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;lol&lt;/span&gt;! I already have been going on it during the week 30 minutes a day. I plan on upping it soon. We now have so much exercise equipment we could have our own room for a gym. Unfortunately we don't have room for that so for now my new toy is in my bedroom and Ellie (elliptical) is down in the basement not being used. He has been lifting weights while he lays down on the floor in between commercials. He has one old dumbell that is 10 lbs and in the other hand he holds my 2-5 lbs dumbells. Yeah not so safe. So we got ourselves a set of those dumbells that you slide across and select the weight you want. No not the Bowflex ones. Nice but too much for our pocket book. So we got the Reebok ones. You can have it set from 5lbs -25 lbs. I am off to go find a routine to start off with. I always get psyched this time of year. Ever since I went off Metformin (last year) my weightloss has stopped and I gained back what I lost while on it and eating healthy. My husband has been dropping weight like a faucet dripping water down the drain. I can't let him get sexier than me! LOL! Nah I just need to see that I need to do this for myself. I have always been told losing 10% of your body weight can help flip PCOS symptoms. I get really close and then boom fall off. I need constant motivation. I need to set a plan in motion. Make a schedule. With school, work, Kaila and Dave barely home during the week it doesnt leave me much time. So I just need to schedule everything in and show myself where I can find 'ME' time for exercise. During the summer I walk and swim a lot with the kids. But that is normal. I need to add more to my day. So I am hoping to sit down and get a schedule to put in my elliptical and extra walks. I have the food part down. I have lost 11 pounds and can feel the difference. Now I just need to up it a notch. It really is the only eating plan that works. I just need to keep myself positive and stay on track. OK so I know I wont stay on 100% all the time but I need to keep positive when I do fall off.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;This time around I decided to do it differently than in the past.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Past:(2002-2005)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Weekly meetings and stop in the community message board occasionally.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;2008:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;1. Monthly pass (giving me access to etools):&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I am pre-paid so if I miss a week I am wasting my money. I am hoping this will work since I do have a gym membership and haven't gone since October. That I plan on starting to use again. Having PCOS it is really important to keep yourself moving daily. I sit allot with my niece during the day (now that it is cold) so I need to get to the gym or on Ellie!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;2. I also plan on going on the message boards and making friends. The buddy system works.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;3. Unlimited meeting means I can use them like AA. Having a bad food choice day-go to a meeting!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;PCOS Issues update:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;We went on a break from TTC in the summer. We strated on our wedding night (7/5/03) and we decided it might help to take a break and just enjoy each other. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Back in October I started taking herbs to help with my PCOS issues.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I now take:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Cinnamon-support healthy blood sugar metabolism, provide antioxidant protection, and healthy blood flow.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Chasteberry- correcting irregular period,  heavy menses, lack of ovulation, and even infertility.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Helps lower stress levels by normalizing the secretion of prolactin from the pituitary gland. Women with PCOS tend to have high levels of prolactin, which inhibits fertility.It  has the ability to stimulate the  production of progesterone by the corpus luteum, which results in a shift in the ratio of estrogen to progesterone. It can also improve circulation. Is a safe sedative to relieve both nervousness and anxiety which is common in women with PCOS.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I currently am not taking metformin or clomid. I didnt have health insurance for the last 3 months but I do now and plan on making an appointment when my card finally gets here. But I do not want to do clomid and am hoping to get on byetta instead of metformin.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Since starting these I got af for the first time in years without being on provera or prometrium to induce it. I started taking the above herbs on day 74 of my cycle (in October) and af finally came day 100. I now have af and it only took 40 days this round. My hair is also thickening back up, my face cl earning up and I have more energy. I am hoping and praying this will work. I just want to feel normal again. In the last year I have been having a lot of sign of early menopause. I'm 29. For never giving birth to children of my own and trying for almost 5 years now that is scary. I arrived about 8:50 am. Went through the metal detectors setting them off with my shoes...lifting my pant legs got me by. I went to the right heading down a long hallway and entered the room. To my surprise it was all redone since my last bout  with jury duty. Last time it was a poorly lit room full of those cold metal chairs, in rows going straight back. There was a little spot in the back with a pay phone and water fountain. You weren't allowed to bring anything but your purse and a book. Someone would come in and call numbers. You didn't see anyone till they did. This time I walked in and the room was nicely lit. Women were there to sign you in and hand out paperwork. There were cushioned chairs (the backs too) set up like a doctors office against the walls in a few rows with  TVs in the center of the chairs. There were about 2 sections like this. There also were end tables and regular tables to sit at. They had Wi-Fi, 2 computers with Internet, blood pressure machines, a section where you could get Cd's (some books and some music) form a machine and borrow CD players from the women who signed you in, vending machine's, and a library section stocked with books and magazines.There were people all around me with their laptops, PSP players, MP3 players, and game boys. I wish I had gotten the memo letting me know we could bring these items in. There even was a woman behind me who had brought a bunch of scrap booking items (minus anything to cut with) and was making pages! About 9:10 am the Commissioner of Jurors came in and announced how our day would go. Then one of the judges came out thanking us for coming. She announced it was Juror Appreciation Week. We all got pens, wooden gavel key chains, a pocket calendar and the  coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate vending machine was on for free! From there we all watched a Jury Duty documentary with Diane Sawyer on the TVs. Then they asked for the sheets we filled out on employment and where to mail the checks. Then they came out and called 30 names to hand in their questionnaires that the lawyers get to go over before they come in for questioning. This was at 9:30 am. Then at 10:30 am they had all these people line up in a line and head on into the jury selection room. About 30 minutes later we saw some of those people leave. During all this I was reading, talking on my cell or watching CNN on the TVs. I finally got up at 11:30 am to get some hot chocolate. I drank the foam off the top and set it down to cool. At 11:45 am they started calling names again. My name was included. We all were confused because last time they just collected the questionnaires first but she told us all to go right in the room. We all sat down and she announced we all were done for 8 years and we could go home. She explained that they called in too many people for the day, pulled some names and we all got to go. We got a certificate of appreciation, a paper saying what date we served and shoved out the door...lol! I am not going to the meetings. I always start and then stop going. I'd rather do this at home with all my internet friends.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So Starting today 1/11/07 I will be getting back into the swing of things for pointing. Last night we put the points on everything we bought grocery shopping.&lt;br /&gt;Officially I will begin 1/15/07 and will have a weigh in for then&lt;br /&gt;My Points Target= 28&lt;br /&gt;Along with that I am doing Vivid Weightloss's 21 day Challenge&lt;br /&gt;1/11-1/31&lt;br /&gt;1) 2 fruits and 3 veggies a day&lt;br /&gt;2)Drink between 8-12 (8 oz) cups of water a day for a total of 64-96 oz. (should be easy with my 32 oxz Weight Watchers bottle)&lt;br /&gt;3)Log my intake daily&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;PCOS Issues: My obgyn called and informed me that I shouldnt be drinking milk due to the hormones they inject into cows. So strating form here on out I will be taking calcium w/ vit D supplements and drinking Organic milk (it says right on there they do not inject their cows with growth hormones) and not eating dairy products that dont say other wise.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My mini goal is to drop 20 pounds by March 5th.&lt;br /&gt;I would like to be in Onederland by May 11(my step daughters 10th b-day). The trainer told me to do only 15 minutes a day of cardio. I stuck to that for a day...Then kicked it up to 45 minutes. I know what I can handle and have had no problems keeping to that. This week I only got to the gym 3 times. I am not upset with myself at all. We had 2 softball games after work so it was a no go. I could have gone on Friday but they are way too busy and I plan on that being my day off. I do want to get there at least 6 days a week though for cardio.&lt;br /&gt;On Kiala's days for tennis I go walk around the track (it's around the football field) 3 times at a steady pace..Plus I go to the gym later. I have been doing my strength training as well. She has me doing a lot with my arms, a few for my abs and my legs. I guess it's for beginners. The first day I was sore the next morning but it's not so bad now. I even have myself doing more reps than she suggested. 6 weeks from the day I started I get re-evaluated (measured , weighed) and they give me a new strength training plan. I am supposed to change my cardio daily between: treadmill, recumbent bike and elliptical but I have been doing trdmill. The elliptical I can only get in 5 minutes! I am dying by then. The recumbent is too boring. It's also not a smooth ride. I was petrified of falling over. I guess this helps get your back muscles going. Hopefully it will get rid of some of my back fat!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I was 10 minutes early to my appointment so I did that on the treadmill. Then afterwards I did 55 minutes. The time just goes by so fast in there. I had my first meeting with a trainer on Tuesday. We did my measurements..ugh that was awful. But I hopefully will never see those measurements again. I will be re-measured in 6 weeks and I know they will be down! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Wednesday I had my second appointment. At my first I picked 3 machines I would like to do my cardio on. Tredmill, recumbent bike and elliptical trainer. At my second they showed me how to work them. Now you may laugh but I am so glad they did! These things have so much info you have ot put in. You should put in your weight because a heavier person burns more calories than a lighter person. Yeah so everytime I do cardio I get to plug in my weight..ugh! And they told me not to fixate on my number...how can you do that if you have to put it in on a dialy basis? So she had me do 5 minutes on the teedmill..after 3 mins we check my heartrate. We used the machines tool for that and after 5 minutes she showed me how to do it on my neck. I didnt realize (or pay attention in the past) that it's good to check so you know if you are in fat burning mode. For me at my weight I should have 19-54 bpm. On the tredmill going 2.8 I was at 26 bpm. Then we went on to the bike....I still am not sure if I liked that. It's not a smooth ride...but I was a 28 after 5 mins on that. But there are TV above to watch so that is nice. I went on the tredmill (if you have a radio they have certain radio stations for the sound on the big tv's on the rumbent you are close enough to hear) and recumbent on Monday and watched the whole episode of Big Brother All Stars and didn't realize I had been moving for an hour! Then I went on the elliptical trainer! Now that sucker is crazy! After being on it for a minute I was sweating buckets!  I had forgotten my towel so my short around my kneck was soaked! My bpm were 36 on that baby and I forced myself to get through the 5 minutes on that! Then she showed me the stretches to do. Dave laughed at me when I got home that night...said I looked like I had run a marathon.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Yesterday I dod the tredmill for 15 minutes and then went to the elliptical. I wanted to get through the 5 minutes without crying in my head. I got through it and probably lost a liter of wate rin the priocess! Thank God I remembered my towel! I plan on testing my cardio abilities on that one daily. I have an appointment to get my strength training program with my trainer tomorrow. I cant wait to start that! My trainer told me if you do strength trianing you burn more calories sitting down than soemone who just does cardio. You only burn calories while you are doing the cardio. Good to know! I have always said I could do it at home but my butt just doesnt do it enough. My little sister joined a gym down the street from here and I got to go with her on a guest pass while she was there. It was very nice. My sister had already told me about a 3 month plan they had going on so I was all set to dgo that route. The Trainer I sat with does her job well! She has all this energy that just passes on to you and makes you want to go go go!!! So we sat down and figured some stuff out. If I joined for the 3 months summer special in 3 months I would have to pay the same amount to join again and do a monthly payment.Which would be silly! My sister got an amazing deal plus her insurance covers a lot so she only has to pay $12/month. My insurance covers nada...that bummed me out. But after I had given her my address she got way excited! They were running a special for their grand opening for customers who lived close by! Bingo I live right down the road. So I got 50% off!!! So I paid the downpayment (with help form my mom:Thank you mom!!!) and every month the rst will come out in small amounts. There were 2 plans to chose from...it would have only been $22/month but if I paid $29/month I would be a premium member. Making it so if the gym ever raises their prices I won't have to pay that increase...plus at next years renewal I would get 50% off for the year again...making it so I wont have to pay a downpayment and only pay $24/month. Plus I am a premium member for life. So if I ever leave for a year I still rejoin at the same price! I was hoping but that diet is just way too expensive! Just wasnt in our budget. But I did fiund a new food to love! My favorite is now mashed cauliflower. We have that now at least oince a week!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I decided for now I will get mor exercise in and do the Special K Challange. I strated last Monday. But their challenge is to have it for 2 meals. I only did it for 1 for the first week. Now this week I am doing it for lunch also. In between I have the snacks as well. I was worried about the sugar but I checked and the Almond Vanilla crunch is only 11 grams of sugar per serving. So that's not bad at all. I bough thatbecuase at least with the almonds I get some protein. I havnt had any shakyness in between meals at all.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I also shut down the kitchen after 8 pm. I would like it to be after 6pm but we aren't usually eating till then. I havnt been eating after dinner anyway. But the 8 pm mark is a just in case. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;As for the exercise I have been waiting till my dinner settles. Usually I fele up to it at 8 pm. Which is good because there is usually something on TV to keep my mind occupied and make the time go by faster or make me go faster and not feel the burn.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I just pray I keep this motivation going. I did my measurements and weighed in. Stand in front of a mirror, if possible, to watch your movements, keeping your feet about shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, hips straight ahead and still, and twist at your waist. Start these nightly, doing 50 each night. When you twist left, then right, that is one. Gradually build yourself up to 200 per night. Cravings</title><content type='html'>&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;The South Beach Diet™ encourages you to resist cravings and to respond to hunger. But if you're like many people, it's not always easy to tell which is which. I know I can't. Here are some simple guidelines that can help you determine the difference: &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I got this from the SBD forum.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Hunger&lt;/strong&gt; is the feeling you get when you experience a normal and gradual drop in blood sugar about four or five hours after a meal. It's your body's way of telling you that eating is overdue. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Cravings&lt;/strong&gt;, on the other hand, happen within a couple of hours after your last meal. "They're caused by exaggerated spikes and dips in blood sugar that occur after we eat highly processed carbohydrates like white bread, cake, and white rice. These foods are digested so quickly that they cause an almost immediate rise in blood sugar followed by a rapid dip soon after," says Dr. Agatston, preventive cardiologist and author of The South Beach Diet™. It's this drop in blood sugar levels that causes a craving. Ironically, eating highly processed foods can actually make you hungry!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;So many view the word "craving" as desiring a particular food or beverage. "Oh I am so craving chocolate right now!" But cravings in the SB sense are more of an overwhelming, quickly brought on "hunger pang". SB cravings that the program helps control are not food specific. Anything food specific is a mental craving or desire. SB may help that indirectly because if you are not really hungry from the blood sugar/insulin response, you may be able to have the mental strength to maintain your own self control more easily. But you still need some form of self control and a determination that you are going to succeed and stay on plan to the greatest extent possible. Recognizing the differenence between hunger and physical cravings is an important thing to learn and be aware of with your body.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Keep blood sugar level:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;High GI foods cause such a sugar rush, that the body overproduces insulin. And too much insulin then takes the blood sugar too low.... High insulin levels promote fat storage. The high insulin as a result of the sugar rush pushes glucose into the cells as quickly as possible, and any sugar not used IMMEDIATELY is stored as fat. Or if the cells are glucose intolerant (part of metabolic syndrome) the excess sugar in the blood will be stored as fat. Actually, the blood sugar will also be used to replenish glycogen stores (energy storage in the muscles), but if those are already full, the blood sugar goes straight to fat. That's why keeping blood sugar levels more even also keeps insulin levels much lower, and thus avoids the fat deposition effects of excess insulin. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Craving is another word for reactive hypoglycemia! I bought the book back in September when my obgyn suggested that when I asked of a good weightloss plan for those with PCOS. Back then I didnt have the will power to do it alone. Now that dh has seen how his mom and dad have lost alot he is willing. So I found many recipes...re-read the book and got my shopping list together.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;I found alot of helpful info &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ffffff;"&gt;on &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/index.php"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ffffff;"&gt;this message board.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt; They have a grocery list and an outline. Which the book doesnt-they just give you a menu. At first I was really confused when I found the board because in phase one you arent supposed to eat dairy (meaning milk and plain yogurt..cheese is a protein on SB) or tomatoes (so says the book) but since the book came out there have been changes and now you can have both in phase 1 in moderation. So I am glad I found that sight. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;South Beach is so different from Atkins...from what I see it's much healthier. There are many veggies I can have on this that I couldnt on Atkins. No I cant have corn and peas but I dont miss them much anyway. South Beach wants you to get your carbs from your veggies so veggies are very important on it. Doing much better with the water intake. I have been drinking on avg 80 oz/day. Some more than that. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Walking I have been doing the 1 mile walk. OK that I know is not good for me. I know I can do more than that. On Friday and saturday i did 3 miles/day. UGH! I need to get my motivation going. I think it's down because I ahvnt been drinking my 100 oz. I can feel the difference if I dont get in the amount my body needs! Pay particular attention to your level of hunger when you snack.&lt;br /&gt;Perform aerobic exercise a minimum of 30 minutes three times a week. Log this on your food diary. It's a Walk Away The pounds Challenge. We all set goals for the month (mine is to walk 50 miles-I walked 45 in March). We also have a water challenge. Whoever drinks the most water for the week wins! I was hoping to get in 100 oz/ day!
